because in season 2, i do like hershel, he isn't selfish or annoying. i do hate maggie though, she is a dumb bitch like all girls on the show. (exept for beth, she is pretty awesome, excluding the time she wanted to suicide.)
for the rest, i agree with you completely
...That said, I agree with the basic sentiment of the picture. Though I rooted for Daryl more than Merle. It really was hilarious that the designated bad-guy is the character best suited for survival...
I also enjoy Dale, even if he's kind of a do-nothing character. I like how uncertain and yet certain he is, confident in his beliefs but still kind of shaky in the execution of them. Also, he quotes philosophers and I like cool old characters. Glenn is neat for similar reasons, for simply being a real person trying to survive in a horrible world. T-Dog's kind of a throw-away characters that doesn't get much screen time.
I agree that I don't really care for the suicidal girl (Amy's sister...not sure why I remember the sister's name but not hers) or Rick's wife or his son (I usually don't like child characters, they seem very contrived most of the time and child actors are usually very stiff and unbelievable), but for the most part I admit that they are well played out characters, I just don't like them.
It behooves me to say, however, that you probably listed about half the main characters in the list of characters you like, though. And that's kind of all that any show can expect. I think when a show can throw a bunch of generally unlikable people at you (which in itself is an amazing thematic decision since the show really isn't about zombies, it's about how far people can descend when faced with truly savage situations) and still engage you like this show does--and even come out with a few characters that you appreciate despite their flaws--then it's succeeded where it counts.
